The story focuses on an amnesiac Saiyan by the name of Shallot, who was created and designed by the original author of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, specifically for the game. Shallot is an ancient Saiyan from the past who woke up to find himself a participant in the Tournament of Time. This is a tournament that occurs after Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power. After the end of the Tournament of Power, a mysterious person kidnaps the Supreme Kai, Shin, - putting God of Destruction Beerus under threat. As a result, King Kai is forced to host a tournament with legendary warriors from across time to determine the strongest. Whenever a fighter is defeated or killed in the tournament, they are actually transported back to their original time as they were when they left it, with no memory of the tournament. Whoever is the last man standing is the winner of and will be rewarded with the Super Dragon Balls.
